On 1 January 2026 Alfred Health will come together with Kooweerup Regional Health Service Peninsula Health Bass Coast Health and Gippsland Southern Health Service to create Bayside Health a newly merged health service with more than 22000 employees caring for a community of over 1.2 million Victorians. The new health service will provide people with the best possible care with services that support them throughout their lives. The merger will also strengthen our workforce providing new training education and career opportunities. Subject to final approval on 1 January 2026 all employees from the five health services will transfer to Bayside Health.

Applications are invited for the position of Specialist in Respiratory Medicine - Clinical Immunology (Fractional) responsible to the Service Head Allergy Asthma and Clinical Immunology to work 8.75 hours per week. The role provides clinical care to patients primarily within the Allergy Asthma and Clinical Immunology Service and is also actively engaged in patient care research and education. The focus of the clinical role will be to undertake care of patients with allergic and immunologic conditions and asthma includingdrug allergy testing food challenges and other allergy-related procedures according to Alfred Health and ASCIA protocols.

Applicants must be legally qualified medical practitioners registered or registrable with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and hold Fellowship with the Royal Australasian College of Physicians. Substantial experience in Clinical Allergy & Immunology is essential and applicants must meet Alfred Health requirements for credentialing and scope of practice in Allergy Immunology and Respiratory Medicine. The applicant should have experience in allergy procedures ideally including laryngoscopy during oral food challenge. Immunopathology experience is desirable. Further experience in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and research is also desirable.
