Description

As a member of the Customer Success Services organization your focus is to deliver post-sales support and solutions to the Oracle customer base while serving as an advocate for customer needs. This involves resolving post-sales non-technical customer inquiries via phone and electronic means as well as technical questions regarding the use of and troubleshooting for our Electronic Support Services. A primary point of contact for customers you are responsible for facilitating customer relationships with support and providing advice and assistance to internal Oracle employees on diverse customer situations and escalated issues.

We are seeking for a Senior Infrastructure Engineer who will be responsible for providing the first line of on-site field system break-fix support and installations that includes hardware and software. This is a technical role focused on maintaining troubleshooting and repairing Oracle/Sun SPARC server infrastructure Engineered Systems (e.g. Exadata ZDLRA PCA ODA) and enterprise hardware. As these systems often run critical high-performance applications (such as Java Oracle Database and UNIX workloads) this role ensures maximum uptime and resolves complex hardware failures.



Responsibilities

What Youll Do

  • On-site Hardware Repair: Diagnosing and identify faulty hardware components including motherboards CPU modules memory (DIMMs) power supplies and fans often in data center environments.
  • Troubleshooting & Diagnostics: Utilizing Oracle Solaris tools console logs and Oracle Sun diagnostic tools to identify root causes of failures.
  • Updating firmware/BIOS in preparation for on-site visits.
  • Standby Work: Providing 24/7 support or working off-hours to perform emergency troubleshooting.
  • May need to be able to travel at short notice - short term within region.

What Youll Need

  • Hardware Expertise: Deep knowledge of Sun/Oracle SPARC servers (e.g. M8 T8 S7) and its related storage hardware and Engineered Systems (e.g. Exadata ZDLRA PCA ODA).
  • Operating System Knowledge: Familiarity with Oracle Solaris is required.
  • Experience Level: Typically requires 5 years of relevant work experience in server maintenance and troubleshooting.

Note: This candidate must be a Singapore-born Citizen that was cleared on Cat 1 G50 Security Clearance to work on Singapore government projects. (G50 security clearance was imposed by the Singapore government and is mandatory for all vendors that needs to work on government projects).
