Were looking for a talented and driven Senior Data Analyst to join our data team. This is a fantastic opportunity to work at the heart of a data-led organisation helping shape the future of higher education through evidence-based regulation and strategy.
Youll work in a collaborative cloud-native environment alongside data engineers analysts and policy experts to deliver insights that inform decision-making and drive change.

The role
As a Senior Data Analyst youll:
- Design and implement analytical workflows to extract meaning from complex datasets.
- Use techniques including data transformation visualisation statistical modelling and data science to generate insights.
- Communicate findings clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Support the development of analytical methodologies systems and processes.
- Collaborate with Analytics Engineering and the wider organisation to ensure data meets business needs and is accessible via the OfS data model.
- Build and maintain self-service data applications for internal and external users.
- Advocate for an evidence-led culture and contribute to enhancing the organisations data capability.
About you
Were looking for someone who is:
- Adaptable and comfortable working in a fast-paced evolving environment.
- A strong communicator able to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Logical analytical and pragmatic in problem-solving.
- Experienced in working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders.
- Familiar with the modern data stack and agile working practices.
Essential skills and experience:
- Strong SQL and/or Python (or equivalent language).
- Experience with application of artificial intelligence solutions statistical methods data modelling cleansing enrichment and/or visualisation.
- Knowledge of Databricks or similar platforms.
- Understanding of GIT and version control.
- Awareness of government DDAT capability framework for data analysts.
- Ability to manage projects and deliver at pace.
- Competency in communicating and influencing across diverse audiences.
