Key responsibilities

Material testing: Conduct physical and chemical tests on samples of soil concrete asphalt and other construction materials.

Data collection and analysis: Record all test data accurately and analyze the results to ensure compliance with project specifications and industry standards.

Report generation: Prepare and compile comprehensive reports documenting test results and findings for engineers and project managers.

Equipment maintenance: Maintain clean and calibrate all laboratory equipment to ensure it is in proper working order.

Safety compliance: Adhere to all lab safety guidelines procedures and protocols.

Sample management: Receive label and prepare samples for testing and organize and store chemicals according to safety instructions.

Technical support: Provide technical support to engineers and assist students or other staff with lab experiments.

Required skills and qualifications

Education: Often requires a professional diploma or an associates degree in civil engineering or a related field.

Experience: Previous experience in a construction materials testing lab is a plus.
