Salary: $50 per class (Minimum RYT 200 certification)
Organizational Relationship
or Line of Authority:
Directly responsible to the District Coach of Health & Wellness and Director of Health and Nursing Services
Statement of Duties:
TheStaff Wellness Yoga instructor leads yoga classes by demonstrating poses providing verbal and physical guidance and creating a supportive atmosphere for participants. They are responsible for planning sequences adapting movements for different bodies and skill levels and setting up the space to offer virtual and video library class options.
Responsibilities
- Teaching classes: Leading participants through yoga sequences which includes verbal and physical cueing demonstration and ensuring a safe and effective practice
- Class and sequence planning: Creating a class flow and preparing the class forparticipants of all levels
- Student support: Motivating participants offering modifications and addressing individual needs
- Studio management: Setting up the physical space including AV and music and maintaining a welcoming environment.
- Continuing education: Staying updated on anatomy biomechanics and yoga best practices
Risk Management
- Enforce safety policies and procedures to ensure participant safety
- Serve as primary responder to any injuries/medical emergencies
Qualifications - Education Experience and Licensing Requirements:
- Minimum RYT 200 certification
- American Red Cross CPR or equivalent
- Previous teaching experience
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent of Schools may find appropriate and acceptable
