Description

The Ophthalmic Assistant is responsible for providing professional care within his/her scope of practice for patients assessing education scheduling exam and maintaining accurate patient records. No experience required. On the job training provided.

Qualifications

Licenses and Certifications Required
  • Must begin home study course in first year to work towards JCAHPO COA level certification
  • JCAHPO COA level certification preferred during 2nd year
  • Obtain CPR Certification within 90 days of hire (training provided by Trinity for certification)

Educational Requirements

Experience Requirements
  • No experience required. On the job training provided
  • Previous experience using computerized system for data reporting information storage and retrieval required
  • Excellent communication skills required
  • Detail oriented

Special Skills or Training Requirements
  • The ability to maintain active patient/doctor communication during working shifts up to eight hours per day
  • The ability to access input and retrieve information from the computer system
