HSE/ESOL Student Liaison

POSITION SUMMARY
The HSE/ESOL Student Liaison supports students enrolled at the Abisi Adult Education Center High School Equivalency (HSE) and English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) programs by providing language assistance coordinating student engagement activities and connecting learners with academic and community resources. This position plays a key role in helping students achieve their educational goals by maintaining communication between staff and students and promoting participation in program activities.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelors degree required.
- Experience working with linguistically and culturally diverse populations.
- Strong communication organizational and teamwork skills.
- Proficiency with Google Workspace Zoom Outlook and other digital tools.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Excellent attention to detail and recordkeeping.
- Bilingual fluency required in one of the following combinations: Portuguese/English Khmer/English or Spanish/English.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Translate and interpret information for students as needed.
- Maintain regular contact with students to provide guidance and ongoing support.
- Collaborate with the Student Support Services Coordinator to plan promote and implement activities and events for HSE and ESOL students.
- Serve as a liaison between HSE staff and students when coordinating workshops presentations and school activities.
- Work with HSE and ESOL instructors to connect students with academic and community resources.
- Support the HSE and ESOL programs by monitoring attendance recognizing student achievements and tracking goal progress.
- Organize and maintain records for attendance awards and student milestones.
- Contribute to the monthly school newsletter.
- Participate in staff meetings trainings and other school activities as directed.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Director or Student Services Coordinator.
Reports to: Director of Adult Education
Effective Date of Employment: To be determined
Terms of Employment: Hours not to exceed 18 per week no benefits Grant-funded
Rate of Pay: $24.00 per hour
