Reports To: Regional Vice President of Operations / Corporate Office
The General Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of hotel operations to ensure exceptional guest experiences financial profitability and brand compliance for the Fairfield Inn by Marriott located in Chester and Richmond VA. This leader will provide strategic direction manage the day-to-day operations and develop a high-performing team that upholds the standards of Blue Sky Hospitality Solutions and Marriott International.
Oversee all daily hotel operations including front desk housekeeping maintenance and breakfast service.
Ensure consistent delivery of Marriott brand service standards and guest satisfaction goals.
Maintain high cleanliness safety and operational standards across both locations.
Review guest feedback (GSS Medallia TripAdvisor) and implement corrective actions to improve service scores.
Develop and manage annual budgets forecasts and capital expenditure plans.
Drive revenue through effective pricing yield management and sales strategies.
Control operating costs and labor to achieve GOP and flow-through targets.
Approve payroll invoices and purchases per company policies.
Recruit train and mentor department heads and staff for both Chester and Richmond locations.
Conduct regular team meetings and performance reviews to ensure accountability and engagement.
Foster a positive inclusive work culture that aligns with Marriotts Spirit to Serve.
Ensure compliance with employment laws company policies and brand training programs.
Collaborate with the regional sales team to execute local sales initiatives.
Build relationships with key accounts local businesses and community organizations to increase visibility.
Represent the property in local tourism chamber and community events.
Ensure full compliance with all Marriott brand standards franchise requirements and QA audits.
Maintain all licenses permits and certifications in good standing.
Ensure adherence to all federal state and local laws including OSHA ADA and labor regulations.
Minimum 35 years of hotel management experience preferably with Marriott or other major brands.
Proven track record of improving guest satisfaction and financial performance.
Strong leadership organizational and problem-solving skills.
Knowledge of PMS POS and revenue management systems (e.g. FOSSE MARSHA preferred).
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Bachelors degree in Hospitality Management Business or related field preferred.
Frequent travel between Chester and Richmond locations.
Must be able to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays as business demands.
