Brief description:
The Senior Staff Accountant reports to the Controller and is responsible for managing day-to-day accounting activities. This is an important role within a finance department of four employees and offers diverse tasks each month. This role offers significant learning and exposure to multiple facets of accounting.
Key Responsibilities: (including the following: other duties may be assigned)
- Month-end close process
- Bank reconciliations
- Maintain Excel schedules for accounts such as prepaids and deposits
- Vendor contact and management
- Monitor exceptions that occur with the AI tool used for AP
- Fixed assets maintain the schedules and entries monthly for equipment utilization
- Journal entries for labor allocations to jobs
- Intercompany accounting and consolidations a plus
- Administer the credit card program and import card activity into the accounting system
- Assist the Controller with year-end audit request
Requirements include:
- Associate or Bachelors degree in Accounting or related field
- Minimum 2 years experience in Senior Accounting or similar role
- Good organizational skills
- Ability to query and review data sets
- Excellent communication skills
- Experience in a construction environment a plus
- Experience with Viewpoint or Pro Contractor software a plus
Compensation and Benefits include:
- Salary range of $70000 -$80000 per year depending on skills and experience
