A Day in the Life
Are you ready to shape the future of financial operations for Diabetes International The Diabetes business is becoming an independent publicly traded company with a clear focus on innovation operational excellence and growth in diabetes care. As the Regional Controller North Europe you will ensure the completeness and accuracy of financial statements in your region maintain compliance and act as a trusted partner for management on accounting and controlling matters. This is an exciting opportunity to influence the financial integrity of a dynamic international organization.
This role is preferably based in Heerlen Netherlands with flexibility for hybrid or remote work. You will report to senior finance leadership and collaborate closely with cross-functional teams and Financial Shared Services to ensure compliance and operational excellence. You will have a team of Country Controllers supporting you with managing the legal entities in your region. Occasional travel may be required to support business needs.

As a separate entity we anticipate leveraging increased investments to drive meaningful innovation and enhance our impact on patient care.
Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:
- Ensure completeness and accuracy of financial statements in your region
- Act as a business partner to management on regional accounting matters including revenue recognition and accrual management
- Collaborate with Financial Shared Services to resolve accounting issues and optimize processes
- Maintain compliance with local statutory requirements and US GAAP for the entities in your region
- Prepare and coordinate the local financial audit ensuring timely completion and compliance with statutory requirements in your region
- Implement and maintain an internal control framework for the region based on the SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley) internal control framework
- Communicate financial results and key accounting matters to management and stakeholders
- Lead and develop a regional of controlling fostering a culture of doing the right thing collaboration and continuous improvement
Required Knowledge and Experience:
- Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or related field
- 810 years of experience in financial reporting and controlling within a multinational organization
- Strong knowledge of local GAAP and US GAAP
- Experience with ERP systems (SAP preferred)
- Excellent analytical problem-solving and communication skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and shared services
Experience in process optimization and automation is a plus. Familiarity with audit coordination and tax compliance will help you excel in this role but are not required.
