The Massachusetts General Hospital seeks a full-time nurse practitioner for a one-year training program in Addiction Medicine starting in June 2026. The Integrated Substance Use Disorder Training Program (ISTP) is a fellowship that aims to train nurse practitioners psychologists and social workers in team-based addiction care especially in community-based settings.
The Nurse Practitioner Fellow will work with other ISTP trainees to provide inter-disciplinary care for people with substance use disorders in a community-based health center setting. The training program will provide clinical experience in a variety of placements including an inpatient addiction consult service a low-threshold walk-in clinic and outpatient dual-diagnosis programs for adolescents and adults. Training and mentorship will be provided by experienced addiction practitioners who are faculty of this program.

Educational Requirements:
Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) required.
Board certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) or Clinical Nurse Specialist (PMHCNS).
Licensure & Experience Requirements:
Current licensure as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner or Psychiatric Clinical Nurse Specialist in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
Current DEA license.
Current MA Controlled Substances Registration (MCSR).
An interest in providing substance use disorder care in under-served community-based settings.
Previous experience working with patients with substance use disorders (preferred)
