Job Title: Sterile Processing Technician
Location: Long Beach CA
Contract Type: 13-Week Contract to Permanent
Shift: 3rd Shift 11:00 PM 7:30 AM
Pay Rate: $29/hour
Position Summary:
We are seeking a Sterile Processing Technician for a 13-week contract-to-permanent opportunity. The ideal candidate will ensure that all surgical instruments and equipment are decontaminated assembled sterilized and maintained according to the highest safety and infection control standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Follow all ANSI/AAMI standards manufacturer Instructions for Use (IFUs) SOPs and company work instructions.
Decontaminate surgical instruments and equipment using proper PPE and protocols.
Disassemble clean inspect and reassemble complex surgical instruments.
Assemble and package instrument trays accurately according to set guidelines.
Operate washers sterilizers and other processing equipment safely and efficiently.
Inspect instruments for cleanliness functionality and signs of wear or damage.
Maintain accurate documentation of sterilization cycles instrument tracking and inventory.
Handle instruments and equipment carefully to prevent loss or damage.
Perform computer-based record-keeping and maintain organized workstation areas.
Monitor and restock instrument and supply inventories as needed.
Conduct routine cleaning and preventive maintenance on sterilization equipment.
Comply with all quality assurance and infection control policies.
Collaborate effectively with internal departments and support staff.
Participate in ongoing professional development and required certification maintenance.
Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications:
Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
Certification: Certified Sterile Processing Technician (CRCST CIS or equivalent).
Experience: Prior experience in a sterile processing or hospital surgical services environment preferred.
Skills: Strong attention to detail adherence to protocols and teamwork.
