Job Description:
Under supervision of the Clinic Manager/Supervisor of the Dana Cancer Center performs complex secretarial services through typing of technical clinical and/or confidential material. Serves as main receptionist for the Dana Cancer Center. Screens calls and visits and manages clinical appointments and schedules. Responsible for securing files charts reports and data as needed.
Minimum Qualifications:
1. Position may involve exposure to individuals with medical and/or behavioral risks.
2. Position may involve risks from specimen handling and transport.
3. Must be able to work flexible hours shifts holidays and weekends.
4. Tolerate busy office environment that requires constant interaction with patients employees students residents and physicians.
5. May require prolonged period of sitting; frequent walking standing; may require occasional carrying of items weighing up to 30 pounds required.
6. Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range and manual dexterity.
7. Requires the ability to operate various types of office equipment including but not limited to:
Personal computer; Fax machines; Copiers; Telephones.
8. Exposure to communicable diseases and/or body fluids toxic substances medicinal preparations and other conditions common to a clinic environment on a daily basis.
9. Must be able to work effectively both with internal and external customers in stressful situations.
