Role description:

We are seeking to appointan ambitiousProject Cost Consultant to join our Propertyteam in the Glasgow or Edinburghoffice delivering significant property schemes throughout Scotland and the North of England. Ideally you will be recently RICS qualified or on your route to do so

Our team is involved in delivering some of the regions largest and most exciting Buildings projects in the residential commercial office and sports and leisure sectors ranging from 20m - 1bn in have a fantastic pipelinewhich weare recruitingfor and these projects willallow you to grow as an individualand provide you with theopportunity to work on thebestprojects and industry leading Clientsin the region.

Working with an established and highly successful team your role will be to provide competent and professional quantity surveying support on a number of our large schemes plus the opportunity of leading you own schemes. You will be working closely with Senior Partners and Directors of thebusinessand will get great exposure to future development opportunities.

This role is for flexible working with an encouraged working pattern of between the office and home to allow collaboration with the team.

Role accountabilities:

  • Assisting on feasibility studies
  • Estimating and cost planning to include producing and presenting the final cost plan
  • Tendering andprocuring of construction works including providing procurement advice to Clients
  • Dealingeffectively with post contract cost variances and the change control processes
  • Taking personal responsibility for making cost checks and carrying out valuations on larger projects and in all cases ensuring that timely and accurate cost checking and valuation takes place
  • Producing monthly post contract cost reports and presenting them to the client
  • Inputting into value engineering
  • Negotiating and agreeing final accounts
  • Interfacing with the client and other consultants at all project stages
  • Strong knowledge of the JCT Contracts

Qualifications & Experience:

  • RICS accredited surveyor or approaching final assessment
  • Commercial experience on major building projects 1m-10m in value
  • Demonstration of self-management and prioritisation skills with the ability to work in a fast paced environment
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills including the ability to influence and lead stakeholders and third parties
  • Capable of working with the project lead in taking a project through from inception to completion
