Job Summary
Your Role
We are seeking a freelance Visual Merchandiser to refine and maintain the visual presentation of our Berlin Store. This role combines an eye for understated design with an understanding of how thoughtful storytelling can elevate the retail experience.
You will work closely with the Store Manager on site to gain an understanding of new product arrivals deliveries and commercial priorities. You will also collaborate with our Creative Director and receive visual input from our New York Store team to ensure global alignment while adapting to the Berlin space and clientele.
This freelance role requires a weekly or biweekly presence in-store for approximately 58 hours per session depending on product flow and seasonal priorities. While guidance and examples will be provided a self-starting hands-on approach and strong initiative are essential.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and maintain visual merchandising that reflects the Merz b. Schwanen aesthetic and seasonal direction.
Create and refresh in-store and window displays that balance design integrity with commercial focus.
Collaborate with the Store Manager on product priorities and presentation updates.
Work with the Creative Director and receive visual input from our New York Store team to ensure global alignment.
Maintain all visual elements with care and consistency keeping the store organized and inspiring.
Proactively identify opportunities to enhance storytelling and the overall customer experience.
Your Profile
Experience & Skills
Proven experience in visual merchandising ideally in fashion design or lifestyle retail.
Strong eye for composition detail and minimal timeless design.
Skilled in translating creative direction into clear impactful execution.
Organized reliable and efficient within limited time windows.
Mindset
Self-motivated hands-on and proactive.
Collaborative and adaptable to evolving retail priorities.
