We are seeking a Project Coordinator (Co-op) to join our team on the New St. Pauls Hospital (NSP) project in Vancouver. This position offers an excellent opportunity for an engineering or construction management student to gain hands-on experience in the mechanical construction field while contributing to one of British Columbias most significant healthcare projects.
The successful candidate will work closely with the QA/QC team and project management staff to support the coordination documentation and quality assurance of mechanical systems installation. This role will help bridge the gap between field operations and project controls while providing valuable exposure to complex hospital mechanical infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the QA/QC team with inspections documentation and verification of mechanical installations.
- Support the sign-off process for various mechanical systems and ensure documentation is properly tracked and maintained.
- Collaborate with the commissioning team to help prepare for system testing verification and turnover contributing to making the building fully operational.
- Review and become familiar with mechanical drawings specifications and submittals to support field and office coordination.
- Help track and manage RFIs submittals deficiencies and test reports.
- Support the preparation and maintenance of as-built drawings turnover documentation and system completion records.
- Participate in coordination meetings with site supervisors trades and consultants.
- Provide general administrative and technical support to the project team to help bring the project successfully closer to the finish line.
- Assist in monitoring progress and updating logs to ensure compliance with project schedules and quality standards.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Working towards a University degree or College diploma in engineering construction management or applicable education
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Strong computer skills with hands-on working knowledge of MS Office particularly Excel and Word
- Team player energetic resourceful reliable and timely
- Eager to work and learn in a fast-paced industry
- Comfortable working on a construction job site or office setting
Desirable:
- Related work experience is an asset including from other co-op placements internships projects
- Experience in the construction industry a strong asset but not mandatory
- Basic understanding of plumbing and HVAC systems an asset but not necessary
- Working at Heights Certificate not mandatory as we will provide training
