POSITION SUMMARY
Located in Melbourne Florida the Lead Physical Security Specialist (L/PSS) will provide technical and administrative support to the Chief Security Officer of North America for security projects related to the safety and security of employees guests and customers. The individual performing in this position must be able to take direction well and work independently. The L/PSS will work with site focal points to ensure security measures are coordinated and implemented according to policies. The L/PSS will also support a security program in accordance with internal policies procedures and other regulations as set forth by the Security Department. The L/PSS will oversee and guide contractor security roles in multiple North America sites.
JOB RESPONSIBLITIES
- Performs visitor control support to include processing incoming and outgoing visit requests and verifying incoming visitor identification.
- Provides technical planning analysis and assistance in support of security projects.
- Coordinates with construction/infrastructure program counterparts as needed.
- Prepares correspondence for management signature.
- Interpret existing rules regulations and Agency policies to provide guidance.
- Develop/analyze security program resource requests.
- Prepare reports memoranda briefing papers and other written material for internal use and external use.
- Assist with documentation revision and/or development of physical security plans.
- Enter retrieve and maintain data in specific databases.
- Review documents for accuracy and completeness.
- Assist with the development and implementation of security plans and architecture. Oversight of daily activities to ensure compliance.
- Assist with the development and implementation of programs to confirm access card logs and security camera recordings. Oversight of daily activities to ensure compliance.
- Ensure operability and integrity of physical security systems.
- Receive and process security clearance messages and conduct limited criminal history checks.
- Liaison with local and airport police as well as TSA and other federal agencies.
- Review Track and Maintain Airport Operations Area (AOA/SIDA) access program where warranted.
- Conduct on-site security assessments and develop risk mitigation plans.
- Conduct routine audits of AOA/SIDA access program with Airport authorities.
- Maintain and track Visitor Management System in all North American sites including the review and approval of watch listed personnel.
- Prepare review and disseminate site specific Post Orders and Standard operating Procedures for contracted security personnel.
- Oversee contracted Security personnel and daily operations.
- Maintain Access control program and equipment all North American sites.
- Maintain Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) program / equipment for all North American sites.
- Create manage and complete invoices associated to Chief Security Officer Cost Center.
- Work closely and interface with internal leaders of Facilities Infrastructure HR Legal and IT.
- Review risk assessments to evaluate potential threats geopolitical risks and logistical challenges associated with domestic and international travel.
- Perform facility risk assessments to identify vulnerabilities in physical infrastructure access control systems and emergency preparedness plans.
- Serve as an active member of the Crisis Management Team contributing to the development coordination and execution of emergency response plans business continuity strategies and post-incident recovery efforts.
- Act as Chief Security Officer cost center Procurement Assistant Focal Point if required.
ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Education:
- Bachelors degree in a relative field or equivalent education/experience.
Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years in a security or law enforcement role with experience in requirements above.
- Corporate or Industrial environment preferred.
- Aerospace experience a plus.
Knowledge Skills & Abilities:
- General experience providing specific support for security projects such as Strategic Planning Facility protection Law Enforcement Physical and/or Electronic Security Recovery Planning and Transportation Security.
- Familiarity with TSA and US aviation security regulations such as 49 CFR Parts
- Strong and demonstrable knowledge of physical security technologies and systems.
- Superior time management organization and prioritization skills.
- Ability to build and maintain relationships with government employees as well as outside sources.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills.
- Exhibit a high level of confidentiality.
- Ability to quickly and effectively adapt to change.
- Must have knowledge and understanding of the federal governments regulations related to security facilities.
- Must possess analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite is required.
- Excellent interpersonal relations skills.
