Job Summary

Overview

Provides assistance and support to surgeons by preparing and providing instruments and equipment during surgical procedures in the Operating Room. Works under the supervision of the surgeon. Facilitates a safe effective and orderly operating room to maximize patient safety.
Follows approved infection control quality assurance and department policies and procedures related to the cleaning decontamination disinfection and sterilization of surgical instruments trays packs and reusable medical devices for all hospital departments and PMG clinics.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED required.
Scrub various types of basic surgical procedures: general OB/gyn urology gastroenterology
Current BLS required.
Short-term training in operating room setting preferred.
Previous experience with handling of sterile supplies and/or instruments preferred.
Familiarity with all surgical instruments and equipment. Working knowledge of sterile and aseptic technique.
