Job Description

Peterson Cat has a need for an Earthmoving Service Operations Manager who can be based at either our Hillsboro OR or San Leandro CA location.

SUMMARY

The Earthmoving Service Operations Manager collaborates with Earthmoving Service and Sales Managers in addition to senior leadership to optimize operational excellence and drive continuous improvement of Service operations. This role is responsible for managing the Earthmoving Technical Communication and Warranty departments as well as the Product Support Rebuild Specialist. Additional responsibilities include presenting key performance indicators (KPIs); identifying documenting and working to replicate best Service department practices and procedures; and acting as a liaison between Service Parts and Sales departments on machine rebuilds.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Manage and guide personnel processes resources and strategy execution of multiple Earthmoving Product Support departments including Technical Communication Warranty and Rebuild to ensure service quality technical accuracy customer satisfaction and compliance with Peterson and Caterpillar standards.

  • Support and enhance service excellence throughout the Earthmoving business unit by capturing best practices developing people and processes through training and technology integration and driving continuous improvement through ownership and optimization of core service systems including Texada Dealer Business System (DBS) Simsi and SIS2.0.

  • Manage and track branch performance through the Service Dashboard and CAT Service Excellence programs while maintaining competitive profiles on manufacturers rates markets and capacities to ensure alignment accountability and strategic insight.

  • Manage the warranty suspense account statement and mitigate any claim losses. Improve claim recovery through proactive coaching/training with the various branches and warranty analysts. Strengthen claim documentation ensure accurate service reporting and drive better feedback and follow-up to maximize reimbursable hours and successful claim outcomes.

  • Foster strong partnerships across the Peterson enterprise and with Caterpillar representatives driving collaboration among Service Parts and Sales teams manufacturers and external stakeholders to advance shared business objectives.

  • Maintain regular punctual and predictable attendance.

  • Travel up to 50% to meet with stakeholders and perform essential job functions; operate personal or company vehicle as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelors Degree from a fully accredited college in Business Administration Project Management or other closely related field; and a minimum of five (5) or more years of directly related experience in Business Administration Project Management preferably in a heavy industrial environment; or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.

  • Previous supervisory experience required.

  • Must maintain a valid drivers license and satisfactory driving record

The annual pay range for this position is:

San Leandro CA: $00 annually

Hillsboro OR: $125000 - 150000 annually

We also offer a total compensation package in addition to base salary.
