PURPOSE STATEMENT:
The Assistant Cook will work under the direction of the Head Cook and Food Services Manager to prepare and serve nutritious high-quality meals for students and staff within the school district. This position involves supporting meal preparation maintaining kitchen cleanliness ensuring proper food handling practices and assisting in the overall operation of the school cafeteria.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT and Salary:
As outlined by and in accordance with the collective bargaining agreement (CBA) of Deer Park Public School Employees Association (PSE) and Policies and Procedures of Deer Park School District. 2025-2026 Salary Range: $17.80 - $22.84 per hour depending on experience
The contract Year 2024-2025: 180 school days 8.0 hours per day Monday Friday
Benefits: Employees anticipated to work more than 630 hours per year will be eligible for Benefits through the School Employees Benefits Board (SEBB). Standard benefits include Medical Dental Vision Life Insurance and Long-Term Disability.
