Job Summary

Gunnison County Housing Authority is focused on building and owning rental housing with the objective of holding these units in perpetuity and maintaining cost affordability. When there is excess rent revenue after management maintenance and funding replacement reserves the County Housing Authority will use the revenue to reinvest to achieve the Boards strategic goals for housing and other community needs. The Gunnison County Housing Authority will be adding standing up a public-facing operational organization in 2026 including staffing to expand our ability achieve the BOCCs strategic objectives for housing and other community needs.


The Gunnison County Housing Authority is seeking a dynamic Housing Specialist that will provide leadership direction and administrative oversight to the GCHAs Housing Programs. They will perform a wide variety of tasks directly related to partner and public engagement program & policy development and education and oversight of affordable housing programs. This position is characterized by a high degree of initiative responsibility integrity accountability and ability to work congenially with various individuals and government entities.


Pay Rate

The hourly range is from $32.06 to $33.75 depending on experience plus full benefits.

  • Must possess a valid Colorado drivers license.
  • Must complete ICS 100 and ICS 200 within the first year of employment.


Qualifications/Education

The ideal candidate has previous experience in Non-Profit or Governmental Human Services organizations and has a passion to serve the community. Additional skills and experience that will serve the ideal candidate well:

Bachelors Degree Required

5 years work experience in collaborative team environment

Previous Program Management experience preferred

Organization and thorough attention to detail required

Experience and competency in interpreting legal documents and contracts preferred

Minimum 2 years of previous customer or community service experience preferred

Ability to respond diplomatically and diffuse intense customer interactions required

Proven ability to establish document and follow process

Ability to identify and assess risk and respond accordingly knowing when to seek assistance

Affordable housing human services or compliance experience a plus
