Fellow- Speech Language Pathologist Graduate
Trinity Health Ann Arbor Hospital

Location: Ypsilanti MI

Schedule: Full time Day Shift

Rate: $33.00

The Rehabilitation Services Clinical Fellow Speech-Language Pathologist provides evaluation and treatment of hospital patients in a range of specialty programs.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Maintains good rapport and cooperative relationships. Approaches conflict in a constructive manner. Helps to identify problems offer solutions and participate in their resolution. Maintains the confidentiality of information acquired pertaining to patient physicians colleagues and visitors to Chelsea Hospital. Discusses patient and hospital information only among appropriate personnel in appropriately private places. Behaves in accordance with the Code of Conduct Service Excellence Standards and the Mission Vision Values and policies of Chelsea Hospital. Assumes responsibility for performance of job duties in the safest possible manner to assure personal safety and that of coworkers and to report all preventable hazards and unsafe practices immediately to management. Demonstrates self-directed learning. Provides quality patient care by considering the age specific development and cultural needs through competent clinical practice. Demonstrates unit/area competencies. Identifies and assists in resolution of problems related to safety sanitation and maintenance of the environment. Practices effective communication in all interactions (patient visitor co-worker etc.) Promotes a positive work environment by demonstrating teamwork. Demonstrates competency with individualized assessment of patients using a wide variety of assessment measures and procedures. Formulates individualized age specific therapy goals based upon assessment results and patient needs. Implements patient care in a manner consistent with the therapy goals and the changing needs of the patient using a variety of therapeutic approaches. Orients patients and families to the therapeutic purposes and procedures of Speech-Language Pathology and educates them about home programs impairments and progress. Provides for own professional growth and education and contributes to staff development activities. Stays up to date on all participating insurance guidelines for rehabilitation services. Provides thorough documentation on each patient interaction. Documentation must be timely and include all pertinent information required by state law accrediting agencies and 3rd party payers. Completes daily charges for each patient while adhering to ethical practices per insurance guidelines for each payer. Works with site leader director and/or secretarial staff to ensure schedules are managed well to achieve targeted productivity and clinic budget.

OTHER FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Performs other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED EDUCATION EXPERIENCE AND CERTIFICATION/LICENSURE

Education: Masters Degree or higher in Speech-Language Pathology and status of Clinical Fellow from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association

Certification/Licensure: Licensed in the State of Michigan

REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Current CPR Certification
