Inspector II - Public Works Operations & Maintenance
The City of Colorado Springs is ready to welcome an Inspector II to the Public Works Operations & maintenance Team! As an Inspector II for this team you will perform technical preliminary interim and final construction inspections for assigned engineering projects. These projects include roads streets appurtenant structures catch basins storm basins bridges drainage facilities buildings sidewalks curbs and gutters cross pans and squared returns.
*This position is subject to budget-required furloughs to be implemented in the 2026 calendar year and any furloughs subsequently approved.*

Minimum Qualifications
Equivalent to the completion of the twelfth grade (high school diploma or GED)
Three years of full-time professional experience in a related field
Possess or obtain upon hire and maintain a valid non-probationary Colorado drivers license not subject to restrictions

An associates degree or higher from an accredited college or university with major coursework in civil engineering technology or a related field
Inspection certifications in material testing especially in asphalt paving concrete placement and drainage maintenance
Experience with overseeing drainage functions
Possess upon hire and ability to maintain a valid non-probationary Colorado Class B CDL not subject to restriction related to alcohol and/or drug violations or pending charges

Physical Demands: This position requires the ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds occasionally and20 lbs. frequently and sit stand and walk for extended periods. The ability to safely operate assigned vehicles is also required.
