Staff Software Engineer

As a Staff Software Engineer youll play a pivotal role in shaping the technical direction of Mews core design and build distributed systems that power thousands of properties globally mentor engineers across teams and help drive the evolution of our architecture as we move from a modular monolith toward service-oriented systems.

What youll do:

• Design and evolve scalable cloud-native systems that support global hospitality operations 24/7.

• Lead by example: write clean maintainable production-ready code in C#/.NET with services hosted in Microsoft Azure.

• Mentor and guide engineers sharing best practices in architecture testing performance and reliability.

• Collaborate cross-functionally with product design and data teams to turn ambitious ideas into reliable features.

• Shape technical strategy: contribute to architectural reviews long-term platform planning and engineering process improvements.

• Champion our culture: curiosity transparency ownership and bias for action the principles that make Mews Mews.

About you:

Youre a seasoned engineer who thrives on autonomy and impact. You balance pragmatism with ambition can dive deep into code or step back to see the system and you care about the humans behind the technology.

Youll likely bring:

• 8 years of experience in software engineering including at least 2 in a senior or staff-level capacity.

• Strong background in C#/.NET or similar backend language.

• Experience designing and operating distributed systems at scale.

• Solid understanding of data modeling performance and observability.

• A collaborative growth-minded attitude and an ability to mentor others.

• Comfort navigating ambiguity and making trade-offs that balance tech excellence with business outcomes.
