The Early Years Quality Assurance Team plays a vital role in supporting and improving the quality of early years education and care across the borough. The team works in partnership with early years providers including nurseries childminders and preschools to ensure high standards of practice. Through monitoring guidance training and targeted support the team helps settings meet statutory requirements and deliver positive outcomes for young children and their families.

About the Job

As an Education Adviser in Early Years you will provide expert support and challenge to a range of early years providers including private voluntary and independent (PVI) settings registered childminders and out-of-school clubs. You will play a key role in driving quality improvement and ensuring that all children have access to safe inclusive and high-quality early education and care.

You will work collaboratively with providers to help them meet statutory requirements and embed best practice in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework. This includes delivering targeted training conducting quality assurance visits and offering tailored advice to support continuous professional development and improved outcomes for children.

By building strong supportive relationships with early years practitioners you will foster a culture of reflective practice and continuous improvement. Your work will directly contribute to raising standards across the sector and ensuring that every child in Havering has the best possible start in life.

About You

Candidates should hold a relevant qualification in Early Years Education Child Development or a related field along with evidence of ongoing professional development in early years practice and leadership.

Applicants must have substantial experience across early years settings including PVI childminding and out-of-school provision. A proven ability to enhance quality and outcomes is essential as is experience in delivering training coaching or mentoring. Strong knowledge of the EYFS statutory framework Ofsted inspection processes and safeguarding requirements is required.

The role demands excellent interpersonal and communication skills to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders. A reflective solution-focused mindset strong organisational abilities and confidence in using data to drive quality are key. A firm commitment to safeguarding and promoting childrens welfare is fundamental
