What you bring:
- High School diploma or equivalent (e.g. GED HiSET etc.) required.
- Associate degree in a social science field preferred.
- Six (6) months of direct care experience in a mental health preferred. (Non-professional consumer-directed internship may be substituted)
- Bilingual in Spanish/English preferred.
- Valid CPR certification required within 30 days of employment.
- Valid First Aid certification required within 30 days of employment.
- Valid ProAct certification required within 30 days of employment.
- Valid California Drivers License preferred plus eligibility to meet agency driving criteria
How you will make a difference
- Promotes and assists clients with self-help skills in the areas of eating hygiene and grooming and other activities or nursing activities.
- Monitors clients attendance at assigned activities and maximizes client participation through appropriate motivational techniques.
- Conducts and assists both large and small activity groups and outings independently but under the supervision of the Program Manager or his/her designee.
- Encourages clients interaction and socialization with other peers providing feedback to clients on appropriate behavior while acting as a role model.
- Accurate documents in writing each clients attendance and response to activity and therapeutic groups or individual counseling in the individual medical record.
- Attends and actively participates in Treatment Team meetings as needed
- Division/Program Overview:
- 24/7 inpatient voluntary program
- 16-bed facility for adults (ages 18-59)
- Rehabilitation/recovery services including substance use rehabilitation services
- Pre-vocational or vocational counseling
- Medication evaluation and support services

In accordance with California law the grade for this position is 17.46 - 24.44. Placement within the grade is determined based on experience internal equity and other factors permitted by law.
