CHC is a non-profit social service agency in the Akron area whose mission is to treat inspire support and empower individuals and families impacted by the disease of has been a critical part of Ohios efforts to treat and prevent substance use disorders since 1974. We are currently looking for an experienced Practice Manager for our Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC). The Practice Manager oversees daily administrative and operational functions to ensure efficient delivery of high-quality behavioral health services. This role manages staff compliance financial performance and operational workflows while supporting the clinics mission to provide accessible person-centered mental health care. Key Responsibilities Operations & Administration - Oversee day-to-day clinic operations ensuring smooth scheduling documentation and service delivery.
- Develop and maintain operational policies procedures and workflows consistent with state FQHC regulations and Medicaid requirements.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable federal state and local laws including HIPAA OSHA and behavioral health licensing standards.
- Coordinate with clinical leadership to ensure proper staffing levels and efficient use of resources.
Staff Leadership & Development - Supervise and support administrative and non-clinical staff (e.g. front desk billing scheduling and records personnel).
- Partner with clinical supervisors to facilitate communication between administrative and clinical teams.
- Manage onboarding training scheduling and performance evaluations.
- Foster a trauma-informed inclusive and team-oriented work environment.
Financial & Revenue Cycle Management - Manage clinic budgets expenses and financial reporting.
- Oversee billing operations and ensure compliance with Medicaid and other payer requirements.
- Monitor claims submissions denials and reimbursements; identify areas for process improvement.
- Work closely with finance teams to maintain accurate accounts receivable and improve revenue cycle efficiency.
Compliance & Quality Assurance - Maintain compliance with FQHC certification standards including documentation credentialing and staff training requirements.
- Oversee audits and corrective action plans as needed.
- Support data collection and reporting for quality assurance outcomes tracking and grant or contract deliverables.
Technology & EHR Management - Manage EHR systems to ensure accurate timely and compliant documentation.
- Train staff on documentation standards data entry and reporting functions.
- Support implementation of new technologies to improve service coordination and data accuracy.
Patient Experience & Access - Ensure welcoming efficient and confidential service to all clients.
- Oversee appointment scheduling intake processes and waitlist management to maximize access and reduce barriers to care.
- Address and resolve patient complaints or service concerns promptly and professionally.
Qualifications - Bachelors degree in Healthcare Administration Business Administration Behavioral Health or related field (Masters preferred).
- 35 years of management experience in a behavioral health FQHC or community mental health setting.
- Working knowledge of Medicaid billing documentation and compliance standards.
- Strong understanding of behavioral health operations and trauma-informed practices.
- Excellent leadership communication and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in EHR systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
