Twin Cities Orthopedics is an operating division of Infinite Health Collaborative (i-Health) a group of local medical practices owned and led by its physicians on a mission to give patients more control over their healthcare.
Essential Functions:
- Provide direct patient care to individuals specializing in illness/injury prevention rehabilitation or intervention needed based on individual patient needs
- Providing care in the field ofoccupational health and industrialmedicine for the prevention and management of illness and injury
- Shared decision-making with the patient around promotion of wellness. Knowledge sharing of exercise physiology biomechanics psychology nutrition rehabilitation and epidemiology
- Support the developmentretentionand growth of direct to employer relationshipssalesand contracts.
- Offer advice on when it isappropriate forworkersto return to theirjob duties and otheractivitiestoprevent a relapse or recurrence of injuriesandoptimizethe recovery process
- Partner with TCO Surgeons and Physicians to improve patient outcomes
- Perform evaluation and observance ofworkersmental state and well-being including concussion management
- SupportemployerSafety Managers HR representativesand/oronsite health professionalsin expediting andoptimizingthe return-to-work process for injured workers
- Record medical history of patients andemployees and providetimelydocumentation back to employers where appropriate
- Manage the documentation and return towork processwhen an employee is injured on the job
- Always inform employersabout their employees medical conditionin a timely manner specifically as outlined in the MN state requirements for documentation workability and employer communication
- Interpret results of laboratory tests and diagnostic imaging processes
- Perform evaluation and management of chronic pain conditions
- Perform treatment (usually non-surgical) of disorders in the musculoskeletal system
- Coordinate care activities with other medical experts like physical therapists and surgeons
- Develop/formulate and test procedures for handlingemergencysituations for employers
- Provideexpertiseand resources to thei-Health Human Resources department tooptimizethe internal management of workers compensation recordable events
- Support the development and implementation of tools to reduce the likelihood of musculoskeletal injuries for partner employer groups as well as the overall health optimization of the employees health wellness and productivity
- Provide counseling and education toworkersandtheir familiesregardingillness and prevention of injuries.
- Occasionallyparticipatein community functions relating to TCO outreach events throughout the year.
- Any other duties as assigned
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Board certification in Occupational Health/Medicine
- Residency and fellowship inprimary carefamilyor internal medicine
- Must have all the required licenses and certification needed to work in a particular region or locality
