Primary Purpose
The Shipping and Receiving Specialist is primarily responsible for preparing outgoing shipments with necessary documents and receiving incoming shipments for the agency. This position is also responsible for organizing inventory for easy retrieval ensuring the warehouse shelves are stocked coordinating with carriers for delivery verifying the contents of incoming and outgoing shipments comparing packing slips to purchase orders and inspecting shipments for damages.
Education and Qualification Requirements
Minimum: High School Diploma or Equivalency
Type 25 WPM accurately
Valid Florida Drivers License
Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word Excel Outlook and PowerPoint
Basic knowledge of general office equipment
Duties
Manage the shipment and receipt of all products materials and supplies
Maintain warehouse safety through organization and cleanliness on a regular basis
Follow safe work practices and procedures to ensure compliance with OSHA regulations
Handle all logistics involving the delivery placement and storage of receivables to ensure there is sufficient storage space for incoming items
Work directly with the Procurement Specialist(s) to resolve any issues with receivables and returns
Maintain and ensure adherence to SJSOs policy on Safety Data Sheets
Collaborate and communicate with SJSO employees and others involved in the shipment and receipt of products
Identify when orders need to be placed for inventory/warehouse stock
Track trace and update the status of incoming and outgoing shipments as needed
Coordinate and prepare daily parcels for delivery by the agencys Courier
Promptly process all deliveries by sorting stocking and distributing receivables
Verify that all manual receipts/item ratios are correct
Ensure purchased products and materials received meet the ordered specifications
Ability to lift items as necessary operate pallet jacks for large goods and utilize other equipment (ladder etc.) to access high points in the warehouse
Maintain accurate inventory stock through quarterly counts and use of the Quatred scanners as applicable to aid in the process
Responsible for all aspects of the Quatred scanners
Ability to operate a computer and relevant software to fulfill orders from inventory stock and to complete receiving
Assist with the quarterly new hire fittings and supplying try-on stock items when requested
Entry of Pick Tickets through utilization of the Quatred scanners for new hires
Prepare the uniforms and equipment for new hire issuance
Prepare and coordinate all aspects of yearly Central Supply Inventory
Function as the backup to the Logistics Specialist
Manage a variety of competing tasks and priorities while meeting deadlines
Compile data/ run reports at the request of management
