TheClient Services Specialist is the primary point of contact for clients throughout their journey with Guiding Eyes. From the initial application to student training and ultimately guide dog retirement you will provide guidance answer questions and offer support at every stage.

The role is all about building strong relationships and ensuring a positive consistent experience for every client. Ideal candidates are compassionate patient and highly organized with excellent communication and problem-solving skills. Youll work closely with clients and team members to navigate challenges celebrate successes and make the Guiding Eyes experience as smooth and rewarding as possible.

The Role

This is a fully in-person role based at our Yorktown Heights NY campus

  • Serve as a key point of contact for applicants keeping them informed about application status and expected wait times for training.
  • Respond to prospective applicants calls and emails with helpful timely guidance coordinating support internally and externally as needed.
  • Support students before and during training including occasional evening hours on campus ensuring a smooth and positive experience.
  • Offer ongoing support to graduates including compiling content for the graduate newsletter assisting the Guiding Eyes Graduate Council with group support calls and managing calls from the Applicant & Graduate Support Line. Collaborate with the Training Team as needed for GDMI support.
  • Support graduates preparing for or experiencing guide dog retirement including guidance on retirement placement decisions and reapplication questions.
  • Contribute to student and graduate initiatives and special projects as assigned.
  • Promote a consistently high level of client satisfaction across all interactions with Guiding Eyes.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate client records in Salesforce documenting contacts and writing detailed reports in applicant and graduate files.

Qualifications You Will Need

  • College degree preferred with at least five years of professional experience in social work health care concierge-style customer service or related hands-on experience with a guide dog/service dog organization.
  • Deeply passionate about promoting Guiding Eyes and creating exceptional meaningful client experiences.
  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills; thrives in a people-centered environment and works collaboratively across teams.
  • Strong relationship-builder who can find common ground foster collaboration and build trust with clients colleagues and partners.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented with the ability to balance multiple priorities and manage time efficiently.
  • Flexible adaptive and comfortable working in a dynamic environment where priorities can shift.
  • Reliable punctual and committed to the highest standards of integrity and professionalism.
  • Willing to travel occasionally to conferences or events to represent and promote Guiding Eyes.
  • Able to work some evenings and weekends as needed.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office; familiarity with Salesforce is a plus.
  • Must be comfortable around large active dogs.

Salary Range (annually): $60k - $65k
