Peoria Spine is seeking a skilled and motivated Special Procedures Radiologic Technologist to join our team full-time. If youre experienced in advanced imaging procedures and passionate about providing exceptional patient care this role offers the opportunity to grow within a supportive specialized clinical environment.
What Youll Do
- Review physician orders and determine required imaging procedures
- Assist physicians and fellow Rad Techs with complex special procedures
- Position patients to achieve high-quality clinically useful images
- Explain procedures answer patient questions and ensure patient comfort
- Document patient medical history procedures performed and maintain accurate records
- Prepare and set up procedure rooms ensuring all sterile and non-sterile supplies are available and functioning
- Operate and adjust imaging equipment setting appropriate exposure factors
- Perform quality control tasks monitor equipment performance and report issues to management
- Coordinate workflow and support other Rad Techs when multi-person procedures are required
- Assist with general administrative tasks such as answering phones and scheduling
Education
- Associates degree in radiologic technology
- ARRT Certification (Required)
Experience
- 24 years of special procedures experience in a hospital or clinical environment
Knowledge Requirements
- Routine fluoroscopy and imaging of the head spine and extremities under physician supervision
- Examination protocols sterile technique and special procedure workflows
- HIPAA OSHA and radiology safety regulations
- Departmental safety and infection control procedures
Skills Needed
- Strong technical skill producing high-quality radiology exams
- Proficiency entering and retrieving patient information from EMR systems
- Ability to maintain positive professional interactions with patients families and staff
- Experience with imaging equipment fluoroscopy and film/digital processing
- Excellent communication attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
