Role summary - Year 2 Teacher
This Year 2 Teacher will lead a class through a knowledge-rich KS1 curriculum. The Year 2 Teacher will deliver systematic phonics guided reading and progressive mathematics as the Year 2 Teacher; design engaging topic work as the Year 2 Teacher; and run targeted group interventions as the Year 2 Teacher. The Year 2 Teacher will moderate standards with colleagues and communicate clear next steps to parents.
Year 2 Teacher Requirements
QTS/PGCE (or equivalent) and proven KS1 impact as the Year 2 Teacher.
Confident in phonics and reading pedagogy as the Year 2 Teacher.
Able to attend pre-term planning before January 2026 induction in January 2026 and to begin teaching from January 2026 as the Year 2 Teacher.
Year 2 Teacher Responsibilities
Plan and deliver high-quality literacy and numeracy lessons as the Year 2 Teacher.
Use assessment to personalise learning and run timely interventions as the Year 2 Teacher.
Liaise with parents and contribute to curriculum development as the Year 2 Teacher. The Year 2 Teacher will be in post teaching from January 2026.
