Job Summary: The Surgical Technician assists with surgical procedures in scrubbing duties. Responsible for preparing for procedures and assisting operative team including preparation and maintenance of sterile supplies. Housing available depending on availability (walking distance tohospital). What Youll Do: Create and maintain a sterile field. Inspects sterile items for contamination before opening. Anticipates the need for equipment and supplies before thecase begins. Assures all equipment is functioning before use. Operates and maintains mechanical electrical and airpowered equipment according to manufacturers instructions. Scrub all surgical procedures and understand the specialneeds techniques and requirements of the individual surgeon. Ability to scrub specialty surgeries without the presence ofa sales representative including sports medicine and trauma. Assists RN with completion of operative charge and recordingof hardware used during procedure. Collects specimens and cultures by verifying source andcorrect tissue identification with surgeon. Who You Are: Detail oriented Collaborative team player Excellent communicator Cooperative and thorough Qualifications: High school diploma required. One year experience in operating room as a SurgicalTechnician or Surgical Technician training required. Certification or eligible for certification preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross BLS certification required Job Information: 13 weeks Varied 12-hour day/evening shifts On-call required
