Requirements:
- Recognized Trade Certificate in Carpentry.
- Completed Logbook/Training Modules (proof required).
- Valid Exit Medical Certificate from a recognized medical facility.
- Proven experience in carpentry within a mining or industrial environment.
- Sound knowledge of mine safety regulations and carpentry standards.
- Physically fit and able to work underground if required.
- Reliable safety-conscious and a strong team player.
Responsibilities:
- Perform construction installation and repair of wooden structures mine supports formwork and related components.
- Measure cut shape and assemble wood and other materials according to project specifications.
- Conduct maintenance and repair of underground and surface timber structures.
- Read and interpret technical drawings blueprints and job specifications accurately.
- Ensure compliance with all Mine Health and Safety Act (MHSA) standards and site safety procedures.
- Inspect and maintain carpentry tools machinery and equipment to ensure they remain in safe working condition.
- Collaborate with supervisors and team members to complete tasks efficiently and on schedule.
- Maintain high standards of workmanship safety and housekeeping within the work area.
