Job Summary
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
- Developing and implementing quality control plans and procedures
- Supporting the application of quality tools and methods such as FMEA and SPC
- Managing Corrective Action process
- Responsible for change management including new process qualification and customer notification processes
- Leading cross-functional continual improvement teams to work on systems procedures quality cost cycle-time and yields
- Controlling nonconforming material
- Performing and responding to quality audits
- Performing supplier audits as needed
- Reviewing drawings and specs for compliance to customer and government regulations
- Assisting production and engineering personnel to ensure delivery of quality products.
Education & Experience
- B.S. in mathematics statistics physics chemistry material science engineering or equivalent.
- ASQ certified quality engineer or Six Sigma Black belt certification is desirable.
- 5 years experience Quality Engineering
- Able to work within Word Excel Outlook PowerPoint Email
Skills
- Problem solving. Able to guide teams across the organization to find and remove root cause for complex quality problems.
- Understanding of and ability to develop quality systems (process and procedures for auditing corrective and preventive actions etc...). including ISO 9001 & ISO 14001. CQA judgment in selecting appropriate methods and techniques to address complex problems and finding solutions.
- Experience in data collection and analysis such as process capability studies and analysis of DOE to serves as a technical resource on quality related issues across the business unit.
- Travel 5-10% of the time within the United States.
- Able to solve complex problems using intuition induction deduction analysis of data and complex quality tools
- Excellent interpersonal communication and presentation skills and ability to comprehend (including technical concepts) and communicate with Senior Leaders customers and department heads
- Handle special assignments promptly and professionally
- Set a high standard of ethics professionalism leadership and competency

ITAR/EAR and Other Requirements
- Must be a U.S. Person as defined by ITAR (U.S. Citizen U.S. Permanent Resident or protected individual).
- Compliance with all applicable export control regulations.
Safety Requirements
All employees are required to attend scheduled training follow the site EHS procedures and II-VI Corporate EHS standards. This includes the use of proper protective equipment (PPE) as required by the job responsibilities.
Managers will ensure that all safety and environmental procedures are followed consistently. They will ensure that risk assessments are performed proper training work instructions required PPE is available and will monitor compliance.
Quality and Environmental Responsibilities
Depending on location this position may be responsible for the execution and maintenance of the ISO 9000 and/or other applicable standards that may apply to the relevant roles and responsibilities within the Quality Management System and Environmental Management System.
