This is an UNPAID internship through the DoD SkillBridge Program for transitioning active-duty US military personnel. DoD SkillBridge Internships are available to help transitioning active-duty military personnel gain real-world experience in the work force sometime during their final 180 days of active-duty service. The intern will actively train on meaningful projects and work closely with a mentor and with senior company leadership. HII Mission Technologies (HII-MT) Internship programs are focused on placing transitioning military into internships that require KSAs Education & Military Training similar to their current or previous military jobs; positions that could easily transition over to a full-time regular and permanent job with HII-MT.

Objective

The SkillBridge intern will train as a Senior Training Representative with HII Mission Technologies reporting to a designated HII Mission Technologies Supervisor. The objective of the internship is to design and deliver curricula to train all levels of personnel develop test and visual aids conducts training classes and develop criteria for evaluating effectiveness of training activities. Keeps abreast of training and development research: learning theory motivation theory and new materials methods and techniques. The intern will be assigned special projects as needed.

Desired End State (2 month target)

At the end of two months the intern will have developed the core knowledge skills and ability to work as a contributing member of a Training Development addition the internship will provide the ability to operate within complex programs responsible for developing training courses for future and current Navy Training Programs gaining invaluable insights into governmental and non-governmental business practices. The intern will also gain experience working with a leading global engineering and defense technologies provider in a dynamic program office environment.

• The intern will understand the process of developing curricula to US Navy Learning Centers compliance standards
• The intern will increase their understanding of instructional design concepts and their application to a training program
• The intern will develop a deep understanding of different types of learning theories and content development process technologies
• The requirements of Fleet Introduction Training and Groom training for BFTT and ATD Systems
• The intern will develop an understanding of managing complex program processes
