Job Summary
The Mechanic Class A - Residence Halls will be responsible for maintenance services in the university residence halls.
Essential Functions
- Maintaining repairing and installing plumbing fixtures and hardware such as: faucets drains showers manual and automatic flushometers sinks water closets urinals valves and piping.
- Performing general repair tasks including: ceiling repair door repair installing hardware lamp replacement and light fixture repair.
- Clearing and unclogging drains and repairing leaks.
- Reading and interpreting mechanical plans and prints.
- Completing daily work order assignments under minimum supervision.
- Working at heights greater than 10 feet from ladders scaffold and lift equipment.
- Wearing of respiratory protective equipment (annual pulmonary fit test required).
- Performing additional duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of a HS Diploma or GED in orthe equivalent combination of education and work experience. (Please review the Equivalency Chart for additional information.)
- Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience.
- Must possess a valid drivers license.
Physical Demands
- Typically standing walking
- Typically bending crouching stooping
- Lifting demands > 50lbs
