Do you have what it takes to lead ERLs Fabrication Team Do you have great work ethic and want to be part of a great team making things happen If so we want to hear from you!Fabrication Lead is responsible for overseeing the general practices of fabrication in all aspects from welding sawing spot welding and all other fabrication equipment. You will always work close with all Fabrication Employees and Materials Lead to support them with a helpful attitude. As the Lead you must know all aspects of the process to include TIG/MIG welding brake press metal rolling robotic welding and plasma cutting. You will have a daily meeting with Fabrication Supervisor to discuss workload scheduling and priorities. You will make sure all job travelers are filled out correctly and returned to the Fabrication Supervisor. You will treat every co-worker with respect and help them understand good fabrication/welding practices. You will leave all personnel issues to the Plant Manager. You will continue your role as a production employee. However your lead responsibilities take priority over your production responsibilities.Duties and Responsibilities:- You will be responsible for ensuring shop employees are following the methods and procedures that ERL has in place.
- Report any fabrication employees scheduled days off or call-ins to Fabrication Supervisor for scheduling purposes.
- All Fabrication employees are your direct reports.
- You will interview and assess all fabrication candidates with Fabrication Supervisor.
- Communicating priorities developed by Fabrication Manager to Fabrication employees.
- Filling out job travelers and training the fabrication personnel to fill them out properly.
- Train new employees and monitor current employees on ERL procedures fixtures parts and quality expectations.
- Keep confidential information to yourself. You will not discuss one employees short comings with another.
- Ensure all maintenance is performed on all fabrication equipment.
- Bridge the communication gap between fabrication personnel machine shop personnel and management.
- Developing and implementing process fabrication improvement ideas.
- Continue your role as a production employee while your tasks are prioritized by Fabrication Supervisor & Production Scheduler.
- Assign work to welding team members
- Ensure materials are ready for welders prior to issuing the work to them
- Provide oversight on weld quality
- Ensure that work is completed in the allotted time frame
- Backfill to Fabrication Supervisor when they are out of the office.
- Must be willing to work overtime as needed.
Job Requirements: - At least 5 years of experience as a fabrication employee
- Ethical behavior
- Attention to detail and great work ethic
- Analytical problems solving time management and decision-making skills
- Demonstrate teamwork interpersonal and communication skills
- Expert welding ability.
