The Division of Administration/Office of Technology Services has a vacancy. This position is located in the Product DeliverySection. Req. 214396
The Office of Technology Services aims to be a responsible partner in delivering innovative effective and reliable solutions that support and enhance the IT functions within Executive Branch Departments. The Office of Technology Services will work to increase the return on the States investment in technology by promoting smart decision-making solving problems intelligently increasing the rate of project success and fostering a skilled and professional staff.
This position is within the Office of Technology Services (OTS) Product Delivery and is responsible for Design Usability and User Experience within the Engineering section within the Product Delivery division. The incumbent is responsible for the design usability and user experience of new and existing applications using tools and processes according to the standards developed by OTS.
The Division of Administration is the state governments management arm and the hub of its financial operations. Division offices perform a wide variety of activities including the following:- Overseeing the states capital construction program
- Working to provide state and federal grants for community development
- Development of the state budget
- Providing technology services
- Giving agencies guidance in the state purchasing and contracting process as they seek goods and services
- Administering a program that provides federal funds to help Louisiana residents recover from a series of devastating hurricanes
Minimum Qualifications
Two years of experience in information technology; OR
Six years of full-time work experience in any field; OR
An associates degree in information technology; OR
A bachelors degree.
EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:
Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.
NOTE:
A certification in an approved area may be substituted for the education and/or experience requirements at the time of hire or promotion provided the appointment is made from a Certificate of Eligibles.

Job Duties and Other Information
Job Duties:
Performs design usability and user experience functions for the section:
* Creates and edits wireframes and mockups that conform to accepted standards and procedures.
* Participates in project planning meetings user interviews and usability studies to discuss and understand user needs with respect to applications being developed.
* Participates in design and usability reviews of systems in development and production.
* Participates in design reviews and design critiques to help ideate on user requirements and maintain standards across teams and projects.
* Participates in troubleshooting user flow issues across projects.
Assists with the successful delivery of IT projects statewide:
* Participates in usability testing and user acceptance testing.
* Attends and participates in project meetings such as daily standups planning and retrospectives keeping project leadership informed of progress towards project goals.
* Assists in the preparation of presentations and refinement of project documents to meet design and language standards.
Assists with the development of the sections document library and standards including documents for the design process best practices and guidance for internal
teams and other OTS sections.
Researches and remains informed of OTS and industry standards with respect to design usability user experience and accessibility.
Performs all other tasks special projects analysis studies and plans as directed.
Position-Specific Details:
Appointment Type:This vacancy may be filled by a jobappointment which is temporary in nature and is not to exceed 48 months. If filled as a job appointment the position may be converted to a probational appointment provided a vacant position becomes available and funding is available.
Career Progression:This vacancy participates in a career progression group and may be filled from this recruitment as an IT Statewide Associate Analyst 1 2 3 or 4.
