About the Job
The Department of Dermatology at the University of Minnesota Medical School seeks an outstanding physician-scientist to join our growing academic dermatology program as an Academic Track Professor. This position is equally divided between clinical service (0.5 FTE) and research (0.5 FTE). The successful candidate will contribute to excellence in patient care education and innovative research aimed at advancing the understanding and treatment of dermatologic diseases.
50% of effort will be spent in a research setting overseeing the development and completion of research projects; writing new grant proposals to secure independent funding; preparing manuscripts for publication.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- MD MD/PhD or equivalent terminal degree.
- Board certified or board eligible in Dermatology.
- Eligibility for medical licensure in the state of Minnesota.
- Demonstrated record of clinical excellence and commitment to academic medicine.
- Evidence of scholarly productivity and potential to secure extramural research funding.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Established research portfolio with active grant support (e.g. NIH VA foundation).
- Experience mentoring trainees and leading multidisciplinary research teams.
- Expertise in clinical translational or basic science dermatology research aligned with departmental priorities.
- Strong communication and leadership skills with a collaborative academic approach.

Salary at the University of Minnesota is dependent upon academic effort of the person hired and begins at $300000. Clinical salary aligned with clinical effort is provided through University of Minnesota Physicians. Total salary will be in the range of $375000 Total salary is competitive with market and based on AAMC salary benchmarks.
