Generative AI Software Engineer

Employment type: 12 month contract with possibility of renewal depending on business needs and personal performance. Hourly pay in USD.
Must be able to work full-time hours (40 hours a week).
Location: Hybrid at Monterrey MX. 8 days a month onsite.
Timezone: Must be able to work on Central Time.

About the role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Generative AI Software Engineer with full-stack expertise in Python and TypeScript to join our development this role you will architect develop and implement cutting-edge AI-powered solutions that transform how customers interact with products and services.

You will be responsible for building production-scale generative AI systems including RAG architectures LLM orchestration and agentic AI applications while ensuring scalability security and cloud best practices. Working in an Agile environment youll lead technical innovation mentor team members and collaborate with cross-functional partners to deliver AI solutions that drive customer value in areas such as document analysis research and content drafting.

What youll do

• Design and develop enterprise-scale generative AI applications using Python and TypeScript ensuring security performance and cost optimization.
• Architect and implement RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) systems using vector databases and hybrid search strategies.
• Build and integrate LLM-powered features using frameworks such as LlamaIndex LangChain or custom orchestration solutions.
• Create responsive AI-driven user interfaces using React TypeScript and modern front-end practices.
• Develop robust APIs and microservices that expose AI capabilities with proper governance monitoring and safety measures.
• Lead the evaluation and selection of AI models balancing performance cost and business requirements.
• Implement containerized AI applications using Docker and Kubernetes with optimized resource management for GPU workloads.
• Establish AI governance practices including bias detection content safety prompt injection prevention and compliance measures.
• Mentor team members in both traditional software engineering and emerging AI practices.
• Collaborate with product managers and stakeholders to translate business needs into innovative AI solutions.
• Monitor AI system performance implement cost optimization strategies and ensure reliable production operations.
• Stay current with the rapidly evolving GenAI landscape through research experimentation and community engagement.

What were looking for

• 5 years of experience in full-stack development with strong proficiency in Python.
• 2 years of hands-on experience building production applications with LLMs (e.g. GPT-4 Claude Gemini or open-source models).
• Proven experience implementing RAG systems with vector databases (e.g. Pinecone Weaviate Azure AI Search).
• Strong proficiency with AI/ML frameworks such as Hugging Face Transformers LangChain and LlamaIndex.
• Experience with prompt engineering model evaluation and LLM optimization techniques.
• Solid understanding of front-end technologies including React TypeScript and modern UI patterns for AI applications.
• Experience with containerization (Docker Kubernetes) and cloud platforms (Azure preferred).
• Ability to navigate ambiguity and iterate on solutions in non-deterministic AI systems.
• Excellent communication skills for explaining complex AI concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a creative approach to applying AI capabilities and commitment to responsible AI development and ethical practices.
• Advanced English proficiency (C1 or C2) with proven experience working in English-speaking environments and collaborating with global teams.
• Experience working in an Agile pair programming environment.

• Microsoft AI Engineer Associate Certification (AI-102).
• Experience with Azure OpenAI Service Azure AI Studio and enterprise AI deployments.
• Knowledge of agentic AI frameworks (AutoGen CrewAI) and multi-agent architectures.
• Experience with multimodal AI (vision speech text).
• Familiarity with fine-tuning techniques and custom model training.
• Experience implementing AI governance and compliance frameworks at scale.
• Knowledge of MLOps/LLMOps practices including model monitoring and A/B testing.
• Contributions to AI/ML open-source projects or research publications.
• Experience with React micro front-ends and component-based architecture.
• Understanding of security best practices for AI applications handling sensitive data.
