Full-time: 35 hours per week

Fixed term: up to 6 months

The School of Engineering seeks to appoint a Research and Innovation Associate in Surface Chemistry and Wetting. This Research Associate position will contribute to the EPSRC Collaborative IAA project Plastic-Free Liquid-Like Coating for Food Pharmaceutical and Medical applications within the Institute for Multiscale Thermofluids.

The Opportunity:

This Research Associate position will contribute to thePlastic-Free Liquid-Like Coating for Food Pharmaceutical and Medical applications within theInstitute for Multiscale Thermofluids at the University of Edinburgh which is funded byEPSRC Collaborative IAA projects and in collaboration with colleagues at Gerresheimer Molded Glass.

This role is UE07 and is available on a fixed term basis for up to 6 months.

Your skills and attributes for success:

  • Laboratory experience in surface chemistry
  • Laboratory experience in formulation of and development of polymer coatings.
  • Laboratory experience in polymer synthesis and characterisation.
  • Laboratory experience in surface characterisation and wettability.
  • Experience with industrial collaborators.
