Job Overview
Armour Security & Protection Services is a leading provider of corporate and commercial security solutions across Canada. We are seeking an experienced Security Manager to oversee and coordinate our security operations in the Burnaby region. The Operations Manager will ensure effective delivery of security services maintain client satisfaction and lead our team of security personnel in alignment with company standards and regulatory requirements. This role acts as a critical link between our front-line security teams clients and corporate management to uphold service excellence and operational efficiency.
Requirements
Key Responsibilities
Operational Leadership: Oversee daily security operations including manned guarding mobile patrols and CCTV monitoring. Ensure all security services meet client contracts and Armour Securitys quality standards.
Client Relations: Serve as the primary point of contact for key clients addressing any concerns or service requests promptly. Maintain strong partnerships by understanding client needs and providing tailored security solutions.
Team Management: Lead mentor and schedule a team of security supervisors and guards. Ensure all staff are trained equipped and aware of site-specific procedures. Promote a work environment focused on safety professionalism and respect. Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide coaching or corrective action as needed.
Compliance & Safety: Ensure compliance with all security licensing requirements company policies and health and safety regulations. Implement and enforce standard operating procedures and emergency protocols. Participate in occupational health and safety committees or initiatives as required.
Administrative Duties: Prepare operational reports (scheduling incident reports client feedback) and maintain accurate records of security activities. Assist in budgeting and resource allocation for the operations department. Respond to urgent incidents or operational issues after hours if necessary.
Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve service delivery and operational processes. Work with senior management to develop strategic plans for expanding services or enhancing efficiency. Support business development by identifying potential new contracts or community outreach opportunities.
Qualifications and Skills
Education: High school diploma required; post-secondary education in business security management or a related field is an asset.
Experience: At least 23 years of supervisory or management experience in the security industry or a related field (law enforcement military or risk management). A total of 5 years of experience in security operations is preferred.
Licenses/Certifications: Valid British Columbia Security Worker License (or ability to obtain). A valid Class 5 drivers license with clean driving record is required. First Aid/CPR certification and any security management credentials (e.g. Certified Protection Professional) are strong assets
Leadership Skills: Strong leadership and team coordination skills with the ability to mentor staff and manage performance. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to effectively liaise with clients and employees.
Technical Skills: Proficiency with MS Office (Word Excel Outlook) for reporting and scheduling. Familiarity with scheduling or security incident software is an advantage.
Other Requirements: Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities especially under pressure. Able to work flexible hours or on-call as needed for a 24/7 operation. Note: Candidates do not need Canadian work experience; international experience in security or operations management will be considered equivalently.
