Job Summary

This position will include a variety of tasks including keeping welders supplied with the materials (cut to size) needed to complete job orders. The position will include using Bridgeport Mills drill presses tube saws cold saws and a variety of hand and power tools. Lock out tag out and other safety measures (including blade guards) are present. Training will be provided. The person must be comfortable lifting up to 50 lbs. Regularity of heavy lifting will vary day to day based on the workload required that day. It will be a physically active job most days and the person will be on their feet and active throughout their shift. The primary role of this position is to prep steel (generally 4 diameter stainless steel) to the required size and specifications and pass it along to the welding area. The candidate does not need machine shop or welding experience but should have some type of production or trades background and/or skill set. For example the ability to use a tape measure and add basic fractions very important. Previous experience using a caliper is preferred but not required.

This is a clean shop well lit heated AC in the summer and well ventilated. This person is replacing a person that is leaving at the end of December. But they will start the candidate sooner than this (immediately for the right person). Written verbal and verbal comprehension in English is a must. 90% english proficiency approx.

The job is trainable but the base skillset is a person with a high attention to detail and naturally inclined with math. Quality and attention to detail very important.

Shift is flexible -- Generally M-F 6am-2:20pm (but can work M-Th doing 4x10 as well). Biggest thing is communication and consistency. Bus line isnt impossible but not easy. Attendance is very importanbt.
