QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelors degree preferred.
- Dependable professional and of good moral character with the ability to maintain the highest standard of confidentiality.
- Strong technology skills including proficiency with the Google Suite for Business Microsoft Excel and Social Media.
- Comprehensive knowledge of the organization and functions of our school system including established procedures and practices.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to communicate and work effectively tactfully and courteously with staff students parents vendors and the general public.
- Ability to assume responsibility prioritize and maintain confidentiality.
- Ability to maintain self-control and complete tasks with frequent interruptions.
- Ability to solve practical problems independently and with others.
- Ability to work independently and make decisions in accordance with established policies and regulations.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written oral diagram or schedule form.
- Ability to make decisions without close supervision and must be accurate efficient and capable of handling detailed work assignments.
- Ability to maintain records prepare reports create newsletters social media posts and digital presentations.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
SUMMARY: Assists the Superintendent by performing highly confidential and complex secretarial and support duties as described below. Acts as liaison between the District and community parents staff and Board of Education
- Responsible for professionally handling confidential information situations and materials.
- Answer analyze and interpret incoming calls emails and communication to the Superintendents office to discern what action should be taken next.
- Maintain a schedule of appointments for the superintendent and Board of Education (i.e. make arrangements for conferences travel meetings and interviews).
- Responsible for maintaining the PHASD Board of Education Board Policies and legal updates.
- Prepare for and attend all Board of Education meetings and act as the Secretary of the Board of Education.
- Manage the Corporate Sponsorship program and district marketing programs.
- Create a high caliber Weekly District Newsletter from the Superintendent and other informational publications.
- Conducts him/herself in a professional manner commensurate with his/her position and projects a good public image of the School District in dealing with the community and employee groups.
- Represent the district at assigned community meetings/events (ie staffing a table or tent outside of regular work day)
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Superintendent.
