We are looking for a confident and experienced Medical Secretary Team Leader to manage a busy secretarial team and support a group of consultants in delivering outstanding patient care. This role combines hands-on secretarial duties with leadership responsibilities ensuring smooth day-to-day operations high standards of service and effective coordination across consultant practices.
Team Leadership & Line Management:
Manage recruitment annual leave sickness absence and performance reviews.
Conduct objective setting and support development of team members.
Operational Oversight:
Ensure efficient monthly Consultant billing and adherence to hospital policies.
Represent the department in hospital-wide meetings and communicate updates to the team.
Maintain compliance with Health & Safety Information Governance and operational procedures.
IT & Systems Management:
Oversee department IT needs including system licences dictation equipment and troubleshooting.
Liaise with IT support for ongoing developments and issues.
Person Specification:
Proven experience in administration within a hospital setting.
Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
Ability to manage competing priorities and drive team performance.
Professional proactive and solution-focused approach.
Excellent communication and organisational abilities.
Comfortable with IT systems and dictation technology.
