Job Summary

Position:	Trails Crewleader I
Department:	Parks & Recreation
Reports To:	Parks Superintendent
FLSA Status:	Non-Exempt

DESCRIPTION

Support the Parks & Recreation Department by ensuring all city-managed trails are safe clean and accessible for public use. This position is responsible for supervising employees maintaining equipment and coordinating and planning trail upkeep and improvements.

QUALIFICATIONS

High school diploma or equivalent is required; additional relevant certifications preferred.

Proven experience in park maintenance or landscaping with at least 2 years in a supervisory role is preferred.

Valid Texas Driver license at time of placement.
Flexibility to work weekends or evenings for special events or projects.

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Knowledge of horticulture groundskeeping practices and safety regulations.
Skills in leadership and effective communication.
Ability to operate and oversee the use of various landscaping equipment.

MAJOR DUTIES

Lead and supervise a team of trail maintenance and landscaping personnel including two seasonal employees.
Coordinate and assign daily tasks to ensure efficient use of resources and adherence to schedules.
Perform and oversee trash and debris removal trail clearing and general trail maintenance.
Assist with tree removal and manage the upkeep of trail-related equipment.
Conduct regular trail inspections to identify and address maintenance needs promptly.
Provide additional support to Parks Maintenance staff when required.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Parks and Recreation Department.

This position is an essential service position and will require providing services during emergency situations.
