Job Title: Facilities Maintenance Supervisor
Reports to: Director of Maintenance

Primary Purpose:
Manage all aspects of maintenance operations for all campuses as assigned. Administer all environmental compliance programs for the District. Administer safety/technical training programs.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
Bachelors degree in a related field is preferred
Hold a valid Texas drivers license and must maintain an excellent driving record
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Demonstrated leadership and management skills:
Strong organizational skills
Able to motivate employees and maintain high state or morale
Strong administrative skills including computer literacy.
Experience:
5 years experience in construction trades or management is desired.
10 years supervisory/management experience preferred
Other:
Must have an outstanding attendance record.
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
- Supervise assigned maintenance staff in order to complete projects in a timely and efficient manner.
- Carry out work schedule and keep employee records. Administer time keeping and all environmental compliance programs and safety/technical training program. Maintain records report and files.
- Plan employees activities and adjust for absent workers emergency work and inclement weather.
- Teach employees safe work practices and enforce rules and regulations. Perform new employee
processing/indoctrination. Perform/maintain continuing training program as directed.
- Manage poor performing employees by outlining expectations counseling issuing warning or recommending other forms of discipline including growth plans.
- Ensure maintenance staff is adequately supplied. Make recommendations for needed capital equipment/machinery.
- Perform routine inspections of facilities.
- Ensure daily weekly and periodic routines are being carried out and documented.
- Act as technical contact supervisor for contracted services.
- Plan summer and holiday work schedules.
- Authorize overtime before it is accrued.
- Recommend personnel for hiring dismissal or transfer per Board policy.
- Evaluate employees at least annually.
- Assist in annual budget when requested.
- On call for emergencies.
- Regular Attendance
- Other duties as assigned by Supervisor.

Computer and typical office equipment. Use common hand and power tools such as screwdrivers saws drills wrenches and hammers. Forklifts and warehouse equipment

Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:
Moderate walking standing bending and/or climbing: work outside and inside; exposure to hot and cold temperatures and various worksite environments.
