About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Quality Assurance Supervisor to lead food safety and quality programs in a dynamic coffee production environment. This role oversees compliance with food safety certifications (AIB GFSI GMA SAFE) corporate QA standards and regulatory requirements. The QA Supervisor will collaborate with operational teams manage audits and ensure adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) HACCP and SQF standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise QA personnel and plant activities related to food safety and quality.
• Ensure finished products meet specifications and SQF compliance.
• Maintain QA standards testing data collection and traceability.
• Promote food safety culture and adherence to GMP HACCP and SSOPs.
• Manage sanitation procedures and documentation.
• Investigate and resolve quality issues implement corrective actions.
• Maintain Quality Hold process and product disposition.
• Develop sensory capability for coffee flavor distinctions.
• Conduct and support employee training on food safety and quality.
• Maintain records for compliance with company and regulatory standards.
• Assist with Food Defense Bioterrorism and Intentional Adulteration compliance.
• Ensure OSHA and company safety training completion.
• Serve as backup SQF Practitioner.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Skills & Competencies

• Strong leadership in food safety and QA.
• Knowledge of FDA/USDA regulations and food defense standards.
• Familiarity with Statistical Process Control.
• Ability to analyze biological chemical and physical hazards.
• Excellent organizational communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work cross-functionally and manage corrective actions effectively.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Food Safety Environmental Health Microbiology Food Science or related field (required).
• Minimum 3 years of food processing experience including 2 years in a supervisory role.
• HACCP Certification from an accredited training firm.
• Experience with food safety certifications (AIB GFSI etc.) preferred.
• Strong computer skills (Word Excel Access PowerPoint).
• Proven ability to lead training and maintain compliance programs.
