Job Description

SUMMARY:

Reporting to the Chairperson the Assistant Director for Clinical Internships serves as the lead administrator for clinical placements within Teaching and Learning (TLRN). The Assistant Director works closely with faculty school and community partners staff and other stakeholders to ensure the highest-quality field placements for teacher education interns.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage the coordination and administration of clinical components within the Teacher Education Program housed in TLRN / CEEL.

  • Lead a team of full-time staff responsible for preclinical experiences clinical placements and the University Mentor Program.

  • Collaborate with faculty and program coordinators to align clinical internships with academic and fieldwork expectations.

  • Contribute to the vision and ongoing improvement of clinical experiences through strategic planning and stakeholder input. Ensure consistent communication and alignment.

  • Partner with faculty clinical team staff and department leadership to proactively resolve issues related to clinical placements student experiences cooperating teachers (CTs) and mentor performance.

  • Work closely with the Center for Student Success and Educator Excellence (CSSEE) staff to ensure alignment with College and University initiatives.

  • Manage all aspects of the University Mentor Program including mentor recruitment onboarding mentor-student assignments support and evaluation.

  • Work collaboratively with faculty to identify train and maintain a high-quality pool of mentors.

  • Analyze and share mentor feedback and performance data to support continuous improvement.

  • Coordinate mentor meetings and professional development opportunities.

  • Manage administrative systems such as Workday to ensure timely processing of mentor compensation and travel reimbursements.

  • Prepare and disseminate relevant clinical experience reports with department leadership and other key stakeholders to facilitate continuous improvement and accountability.

  • Oversee the organization and maintenance of data in Anthology and other software applications to support university state and federal reporting (e.g. Title II PEDS) as well as accreditation standards.

  • Coordinate data analysis and reporting activities with Associate Director of Data Assessment and Accreditation.

  • Attend program department College and University meetings as required.

  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

REQUIRED:

  • Masters degree from an accredited university in Teacher Education P-12 Educational Leadership or related fields.

  • Minimum four years of professional experience in an institution of higher education or related field.

  • Exceptional attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in performing organizational and administrative duties.

  • Demonstrated understanding of the cultural social political context of families and communities with the ability to work collaboratively in inclusive and diverse settings.

  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively with faculty staff and external partners.

  • Experience supporting success initiatives.

  • Ability to interpret and apply University College and departmental policies and procedures.

  • High-level proficiency with Google Workspace Microsoft Office Suite (including Excel) Canva or other desktop publishing tools and social media platforms.

PREFERRED:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks effectively in a fast-paced dynamic office environment.

  • Experience applying a system-oriented approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.

Salary Range

$85550.86-$94109.54 Annually
